Yellow Breeches, 08/26/25

Sharri and I met up and we had a 7:30AM start. She was such blast to share the water with today. It was a pleasant 53 degree morning warming to 82 under sunny skies. The water was 59 degrees and warmed to 64, but downstream it was 67 degrees. At the start there were plenty of tan caddis and some spotty tiny BWO’s. We did have any early rise, but bite was on the bottom by noon and then that fell off by 1PM. Sharri considered herself a beginner, but she way short changing herself. Only instruction I gave her was tightening up the casting stroke when side-arming under obstacles. That quickly ended in a trout bite. We fished dry/dropper and it was about 50/50 surface or sub-surface takes. Then we switched over to all nymphs. Sharri had a very good summer day with clear and low water. She had a shot at 12, landing 3 browns and a surprise small rainbow that looked wild. Went back to Precision and they all believe the rainbows have been coming from a TIC event. We both had a great time and she is hoping she will back my way again.
