Still guiding, but not doing many stream reports with summer conditions. Lets hope this next heat coming is the last. Charlie loves fishing and wanted to learn more about fly fishing, So Adam, his dad, brought him to fish with me for the morning. They wanted on the water before school started. We hit the water from 7:30AM until 11AM. It was mostly cloudy, but once the sun broke through the bite slowed down. The water was clear, normal summer flow and only 62 degrees. There was nothing hatching, but a few trout were looking for terrestrials. I set Adam up with what I have been having the best action on. A terrestrial/dropper set him into several browns. Some missed and caught. Charlie and I did a casting coarse and we hit the water. I started off with dry/droppers and the finished with some tight line nymphing. He landed two and missed a few more. That was a very fun morning. Mornings are still your best bet. My fall trout fishing is filling quickly and just 6 more days open for steelhead November 2-16.
