Yellow Breeches, 06/06/25

I met up with Priscilla who brought her friend Taylor. Priscilla and I went over the basics a few months ago and she fell in love with fly fishing. Taylor had fished before but never with a fly rod. We were pushing for a full day, but weather looked to becoming into the area. It was a humid, cloudy morning. The breeches was tinted and 55 degrees when I checked at 8AM. We fished till noon. I did see some caddis, but the bite is still on nymphs. The plan was learning nymph fishing in the morning and then to dry/droppers during the afternoon. Well, we will do dry/droppers on July 3rd. They had quite the morning. The takes are still very light. They missed several and had five on and while teaching them to land trout they came off. Unfortunately, one was a very nice brown still nothing like what we have on Antietam. Still we got three nice rainbows into the net. Priscilla is so into fly fishing, she is thinking about a date for steelhead with me. I have a few dates left in November.
