Red Run/Antietam, 06/04/25
It was the final day for Bob and Bruce until 2026. The water was much the same, but was flowing at 54, warming to 57 degrees. The consensus for then was yesterday was numbers, today was fun. They wanted to try dry/dropper and since it has not been that kind of year, I decided Red Run be the best bet. Was not long we switched to nymphs and it was wild trout on ranging from 6 to 14 inches. They caught around 15 before we ate a streamside lunch and headed for bigger targets. The lower section did not disappoint. We had to work for them. Ended up with two small trout, two 18 inch browns, one 16 inch brown and two rainbows measuring 20” and almost 19”. Got to say that is two impressive days of fishing on this amazing water we have.
