Ahh man, back on my beloved water with two very experienced fly anglers. Bob and Bruce have fished everywhere and they love coming to this water every year. We moved the trip back so they could hit what is usually great dry fly fishing. However with the weather, that was not the case. Both Ron and I met them yesterday at the farmhouse. They took full advantage of being able to fish in designated areas for the guest. They put 7 in the net last night.

We started this morning just before 8AM and fished to just before 4PM. The water is pushing, but best flows in years. The stream is clear to stained. It was only 50 degrees and warmed to 57 degrees. Bob and Bruce Euro nymph almost the entire day and at times they put in an indicator. They use their own flies and I will give them my favorites at times. For the most part it was a trout netting frenzy. They put over 30 in the net, mostly wild browns. Some rainbows as well. Other than 4 small trout the range was 12 to 17 inches, most being 14-17 inches. Both guys had two trout over 20 inches on at one point. I can’t wait for day 2.
