Antietam, 10/20/25

Met up with Suzy and Dean who both were very excited to get on this water. It was a chilly 50 degrees start. It warmed up to a very windy 62 degrees. The water was at good flow, clear and 51-54 degrees. Nothing was hatching and only saw 1 rising trout. Dean took care of that. I started out in the lower water and missed a few to start. Then Dean landed a small brown and Suzy lost one in the mid to high 20’s. So yes, we stuck with nymphs all day except for 1 rising trout that I set Dean off On. A few cast later, BAM. Good fight trout and I netted him his 16 inch rainbow. We had to get off the lower water because more than branches were falling out of the trees. Antietam was not in the mood today for numbers. It treated them to size. Ended up landing another small brown, 15 inch brown and then 2 almost 21 inch trout. We had enough of the wind by 3PM. It was an exciting day and both are looking into next years “Antietam Experience”.

We are booked except for a few dates in December. Things are already getting busy for next year March-June. Who would not want to fish for wild trout all day without having to work around other anglers on some very picturesque waters.
