Made the morning with Joe and his son for a 9AM started with the cooler night we had. It was sunny and warmed from 49 degrees to 62. The water has much better flow, clear and 53-58 degrees. They both were very much beginners and chose to fish down here because they knew they would not fight off other anglers while learning as much as they could during our 1/2 day. Plus they knew there was a chance at a trophy wild brown. I did not mess around with casting lessons till nearing the end. We hit the water fishing nymphs off indicators. Here we worked on water casting and roll/flip cast. Not a bad start, landing a small brown and missing a few. We did have three 15+ inch browns on. Next will be teaching how to land hard fight trout. Switched off to false casting, got both casting decent at 20’. Then landed 2 more browns fooled by hoppers. They both said they learned so much and enjoyed it that they will start getting their equipment for fly fishing. And next spring they want to come down again. It was a fun morning and loved the fall-like weather.
