Before I get into it, time is nearing. We saw several big browns 20+ “deepening in color” and getting ready. The “Hunt For Red October” is nearing. Our wild browns are starting to get on a heavy bite, fattening up for the spawn run. Ron and I still have openings for October before we shut fishing down for November. Like my, “Mike Heck’s Trout Guides” to see the pictures.
Today I met with Mark and Larry which already knew and were fine with the low clear water. Mark was a very good fly fisherman and Mark never really had a fly rod in his hand. Larry just wanted to fish with his good buddy. We started at 7:45AM and fished till they had to leave at 3PM. It was a great morning. It was 60 and heavy fog. After lunch that all burnt off and that darn sun slowed the big bite off. We fished with tandem nymphs the entire time. Had some issues with health conditions, but both were so very happy that there was water they can successfully fly fish. They landed around 10 browns and we lost two big browns pushing 20 inches and a rainbow over 20. It was a heck of a day and the fishing is only going to be better the next few weeks.
