I would had moved this trip given the crazy heat that is going to last for two day. Curt and I have been talking for almost two years about getting Todd back with me. And then Katie wanted to come. It was weird seeing Curt without a rod in his hand. It was all about the kids. It was a sunny, 73 degree to start and heated up to a humid 98 degrees. The water is still great it is steady at 2.5’ and only warmed to 66 degrees. Nothing was hatching and it was a nymphing game. I kept the nymphs off the bottom using the indicator to adjust the depth of the nymphs. I had the work with Todd most of the time, casting, etc. I’m so impressed with Katie. She can grab a fly rod, after not doing it for so long, and cast like a pro. But just like me, it is the hook set. Plus down here your dealing with very light wild brown trout takes. Both missed and had trout on. Given there hard efforts, they had 14 missed trout on and Katie landed one. Missed Lea, but that will be another trip for sure.
