I had a wonderful day reintroducing Dave back into fly fishing. Dave and Joy showed up along with the cute dog to spend two night at the farmhouse. Joy was truly in awe on just how beautiful the house and the property looks. It was a cool, cloudy and windy day. The water is in such great shape. Flow is 2.5’ and holding at 52 degrees. Some caddis and sulphurs were hatching at times. Dave and I broke water at 8AM and got back to the farmhouse around 3:30. I worked on his casting while fishing nymphs and streamers. He really was casting well by mid-day. With more stream time, he will get the hook setting down. Dave had several browns on that just popped off. Just a little late and the hook is not set in. Lost a brown on a streamer that was pushing the 25” range. Dave did land a fat 15 inch rainbow. He thanked me so much for my instruction. Hugs ended the day and Joy told him, “We are coming next year’! I love it down here.
