I trip I always look forward to! James and I have fished for several years. Now this is a his/hers anniversary gift to each other. Lori’s first ever fly fishing was last year down here. They come in to stay at the farmhouse and fish for 1 full day and then a 1/2. James is a great fly fisherman. I just give him flies, show spots and check in. He wants me with Lori to make her better. Lori told me Sunday the last time she had a rod in her hand was last year. Oh boy, square 1 again. So not the case, she remember everything I taught her and “Wow” did she impress me with how well she did this year. The crazy weather made for some decisions. It was sunny and very hot both days. We started Sunday at 8AM and Monday at 7:30AM. Finished up day one around 2:30 and fished until 12:30 Monday. The water is still in prime shape. It is clear to stained, 59-64 degrees. There were plenty of caddis and sulphurs, but still not much rising to them. They both did outstanding. James landed a fair amount of small to 16 inch browns as well as a few nice rainbows. Just set this man on his own. Lori lost 2 good browns, missed some as well and netted on her own a small brown. She also landed a big rainbow and some others. They both wish it did not go by so fast and on for next year again.
