I met Marcus and Jim for a full day of fishing. We set off at 8AM and finished around 3PM. It was a sunny day. Mid 50’s would warm to 85 degrees. The water is still a perfect 2.4’, clear and 52 degrees warmed up to 58 degrees. There were plenty of black and tan caddis flying around. The craneflies, tiny BWO’s and midges brought a few trout up to feed. We still stuck with nymphs. Jim and I had fished before. I just showed him the new water and he went on his way. Marcus was just as good, only a little rusty setting the hook at first. But it came together for him when it counted. We put a bunch of trout in the net with brown trout being the most. Jim lost a big brown. We think it turned into a big rock. Marcus landed a thick 18” brown. They easily had a 16 trout day.
