Antietam, 04/03/26
Always a great day with my old friend Josh and his guide buddy Jeff. Jeff is completely full for the year! These guys can fish so I was not worried. They rigged up streamer rods and nymphing rods and we went to town. The water is a perfect 2.4’, tinted and 52 degrees. The day started 50 and cloudy, but quickly rose to 75 as the sun broke through the clouds. It was a lights out day. We fished the lower property since they have never seen it. We steered clear from the long flat runs, focusing just on the 7-8 deep pools and riffles in this section. What can I say, 1 to 4 rainbows from each pocket we fished and a 16-18 inch brown and lost an epic, “Welcome to Antietam” brown. Needless to say crazy, amazing water we have. We are hoping to get a June trip in yet.
