Paul did not mess around he booked three trips for this year. This was trip one. He showed up Sunday and stayed at the farmhouse so he could fish for the afternoon. We met up Monday and fished from 8AM until 3:30pm. The water is a perfect 2.8’ and tinted. It started at 50 degrees but fell to 48 by the time we called it a day. It never did get into the 50’s under cloudy conditions. By 10:30am it became very blustery. Paul wanted to work on his Euro Nymphing and we did that until wind forced us to put on an indicator. His Euro nymph was fine. It was just learning to “Set” a little quicker. I tied on a variety of nymphs but Walt’s worms and small eggs were the stars of the day. Paul missed some and he had at least 5 on. He landed both a brown and rainbow around 12 inches. He landed a big 21 inch rainbow and had 2 browns on which were well over that. It was a great day with a fun guy to share the stream with. Can’t wait for our next trip on April 30.
