I had the most wonderful time with Alain and Bill this weekend. They were so happy to be on this water. I can’t put it into words just how much fun I had with them. They praised me over and over about my patience, my teaching and all the instructions they had for two days. Alain was not new to fly fishing, He just has not got out much and was very rusty. Bill was pretty much new. So Bill got much of the attention and that is what Alain wanted. By mid-morning Sunday they both looked very comfortable working the water themselves. It just became a quicker hook set for these wild trout. Saturday the water was stained and 43 degrees. Sunday water was 48 degrees. Both days we saw abundant midges and just a few BWO’s and black stoneflies. We fished both days with nymphs while teaching them different approaches and techniques. Saturday was plenty of missed strikes. Sunday became, quicker “Set” and they at least felt a trout on. With that said, it was still an incredible weekend. We caught several browns and a fair number of rainbows. I say we landed around 13 and easily had that many more quick releases. I can’t wait to get the guys out again.

April is completely full except for the only day open. That is April 1. Doubt that will last long. Remember we DO NOT fish our miles or water every single day. The water is rested prior and after every trip. That way the next anglers are on rested wild trout.
