03/01/26 Antietam/Red Run

Finally guiding has started! Despite me wanting to move this day, Brook and Jim were all in. We had a sunny, breezy cool day. Broc Miller also came down to help and to prepare for his guiding adventures. Broc did not disappoint. He spent the day with Jim, who wanted to get better at his Euro nymphing skills. Jim told me he learned so much. The water is still staying at 42 degrees which has the brown trout hunkering down. Water is at 2.4 feet and tinted. By 11AM, the midges really started to be seen flying around. We fished just about every nymph we had and some streamers. Brook and I did see a tank of a brown just chilling on the bottom and not interested in anything. For a winter outing it was a good day. Brook and Jim had 5 “should-have-been” but still landed a 1 wild 13” brown and a rainbow about the same size. That’s more action than I had earlier this week. I still have those March dates open and should pick up a little more by then.
