Antietam Private Water, 04/01/24

You just have to love all the rain we are getting. However we were not to get this much today. Josh and I texted Sunday and then again this morning at 6:30AM and he said him and Jeff were headed my way. I figured, Josh and I have been fishing for 10+ year and he never cares. He knows I will make it happen. Jeff is the head guide to Great Feathers and man what a guy. If you want to fish the Gunpowder or the Striper run he is the guy. He is so cool. We were on the water at 8:30AM, 54 degrees and then monsoon set in for then next three hours. The stream was OK to start but it was brown by noon. We set of with nymphs and then we were forced to switch to streamers. Despite the weather we did well. Josh and Jeff had two big trout on. They landed so many 10 to 16 inch wild browns and rainbows. We tied to stick it out. I took them up to our upper water on Red Run and even it was getting high and brown. So we packed it in and will do another half day again. So much fun with a great friend and made a new friend. I would have got pictures for my Facebook page, but I was so soaked my phone wouldn’t even work. May have to make a trip to get a new one tomorrow.
