Yellow Breeches, 07/08/25

Chris, Andrew and I finally got out on the water for a great morning of fly fishing and learning to fly fish. Once again I was up early to check water temperatures at 7:30AM. Both Mountain Creek and upper Yellow Breeches was 63 warmed to 65 by noon. We have the best water flows and water temps. in years! The fact is just how long you can take the air temp. and humidity. I’m quickly filling what I have left for 1/2 day trout trips. Needless to say we fished from 8AM until 11:30 under sunny, hot skies. Even though Andrew needed to learn to cast, we hit the water and then finished with casting. He was rolling over a nice cast at 25’ that is perfect for small stream trout fishing. He did miss three and did break off a fairly big brown fooled by a dry off 6X. Chris and I will be going out again. He did well, missing a few and landing a small wild brown. It was a great morning.
