Antietam / Red Run 09/28-29/26

I had a fun two days with Andrew and Mike. We fished Monday from 9 to 4:15 and Tuesday from 7:30 until 3:30. It was overcast, calm and 59-67 degrees both days. The water is low, clear and 58 to 64 in temperature. Still some tricos, crickets and large hoppers around. Both Andrew and Mike are competent Euro fisherman and that is how we attacked the stream. Giving the conditions it was the best way to move these wild trout. Both days were productive. We certainly had the be stealthy and patient, but that is spring creek fishing. During the two days, they had 3, 18”to 20” come free, landed a big 19” brown and a 16” rainbow and at least 9, 12 to 14 inch wild browns. That did not include the 25 inch brown Mike had on. Well, the 6X did not hold up. Plus the few small wild browns caught on Red Run. That was quite the two days of fishing!

I’m booked for all of October. Ron Kline is available Oct. 17-20. There are end of October dates, but I hesitate to book because of spawning. As of 2027, March thru May dates are filling up. We just started to fill June dates. I have fly fished/guided around the US. This water is something impressive.
