I met John and the farmhouse yesterday to be sure he got in OK. We clicked as soon as we met each other and today on the stream was a blast. We got very luck because the clouds never broke. It was 67 degrees and warmed to 84 degrees. The water is still in good flow and 60 to 65 degrees. Some tricos were hatching, but the bite is still on nymphs. We fished from 7:30AM until noon. Never seen such a busy man. At one point, rod in one hand phone in the other. We were to do a full day, but John said he was just gonna have to get going. Still, it was a great day. John is one heck of a good fly fisherman. He lost and missed 9. Most of them while he was on the phone with the other hand. Landed two browns and a rainbow all were 15-17 inches. Plus picked up one more around 13 inches. I can’t wait, because John is already looking at 2027 April dates.
