Been waiting for this for some time. Misha booked a day with me, but asked for a change to bring his son. At a young 7yrs old, he is the youngest fly fisher I have ever had out in 32 years. So we made it work. We fished under sunny skies from 10AM until 3PM. The water is still perfect flow, 54 degrees. Not much was hatching. I sent Misha on his way while I fished with Teddy. He was doing OK with me. He had one small brown on. I knew he could do better and found out he is very, very shy. So, at the end I told Misha I would stand on the bank and you two go into the water. Holly COW!!!! that 7yr old made a grown man about pass out. I could not believe how he could cast. Ted is the next USA youth kid! He missed two. Misha had a good time, landing a small brown, small rainbow and a chunky 15 inch brown. Misha can flat out fish. We all can’t wait to do this again. Misha is the president of Tidal Potomac Fly Riders, so if you are interested, check them out. They are in DC and the second Monday of every month is their monthly meeting that they call “Beer Tie”. Sounds like a whole lot of fun.
