Antietam, 05/29/26
Joe and Ryan had a blast of our water today. It was a cool 53 degree 8am start. Under the sunny sky, warmed to a pleasant 78 degrees. The water could not be in better shape. A slight stain, flowing and 2.6’ and still a cool 54 degrees. Saw just a few caddis on the water. They both were very skilled fly fisherman and we fished Euro all day. Fished just a select few nymphs. All I needed. I did not get many pictures since these two were spaced apart. They just needed to be shown runs, pools etc. and they were just fine. Joe got us started landing two small browns. Ryan soon followed with hie first being a 16 inch rainbow. By the time we called it a day ay 3PM, they put at least 6 more browns and 5 more rainbows in the net. Other than some 7 to 10 inch wild browns, most of the catches were 14 to 18 inches. July is starting to book for Antietam. Mother nature has been good so far with rain and cooler air temps. This trend looks to continue.
