Yellow Breeches, 04/19/24

I text Dennis at 7AM to see if he and Kevin still wanted to go for today. It was calling for rain, but I knew we would see the light takes. I want the best for any trip. They said still on, so we met at 10AM at Precision Fly and Tackle and set off till 1:30PM as the rain started to fall pretty good. Water is still the same, however with the cold night coming it is going to cool off back into the high 40’s. There was not much hatching under the damp, heavy overcast skies. So we set off with nymphs and did not do so bad. I’m trying a new caddis pattern out and needless to say I cranked a bunch out when I got home. Dennis had not been out much at all so I spent much of the time with him. We worked on some things especially mending. Line control made for four lost trout. Kevin did well with his old bamboo rod. We ended up with several hook-ups and a few in the net. No pictures, “Sorry”. I already had to get a new phone this year and want to keep Tracy on my good side. She is looking at a Dette’s glass rod for me. Kevin and Dennis are alreay looking at a summer trip.
