Yellow Breeches, 04/16/24

I met up with Tom for a full day on the stream. We met up with at 8AM and fished until 3:30PM. It was ‘Blue Bird” weather out there today. It was sunny, breezy and warmed up to 75 degrees. The water is still flowing perfect and stained. It was flowing at 52 degrees and we saw many black and tan caddis with some craneflies. There were just a few small wild browns rising. Tom is “Ole” school. He broke out his 7’9” bamboo 5wt. I set it up with tandem nymphs off an indicator. We were not 45 minutes in and we had 5 in the net. It went on all morning into the afternoon. Tom also wanted to toss some streamers and that worked just as well. Tom wanted to try dry/droppers but that did not produce. It was a great day on the stream. I lost “trout count” at 11 in the net. He caught a bunch of very nice rainbows and browns. It was a great day on the stream.
