Yellow Breeches, 02/28/24

As crazy as it sounds I met Bob and Bruce at Precision Fly and Tackle and we were on the water at 8AM with thunder and lightening in the area. Bob was very animate that he wanted a full day of guiding with me before I would be speaking at their White Clay Fly Fishers Meeting. I told him in 30 years of guiding I have never guided for 8 hours in February. Well we did it anyway. The air was hovering around 58 degrees all day, but it was heavy to light rain all day and we fished until 3:15PM. The water was chilly. It was 42 degrees nothing hatching and it was on a slow rise and stained. I set up Bob and Burch with double nymphs rigs off indicators and we tore into it. Later we switched to swinging streamers as we ended the day. Despite, the weather they tore it up. We put 15 trout in the net. Most came on my nymphs and 1 on a streamer. Given conditions, crazy front moving in that was a banner day to say the least.
