Antietam, 08/27/26

So Jerry and I met around 9AM for what we thought would be a work morning. Wanted to weedwack and clean the trails ready for upcoming trips. Well, there was not that much to do. So what does the retired Antietam guide and current head Antietam guide do on their day off? Well, lets fish for 90 minutes. So we set up our T&T Contacts with single nymphs and hit a few holes. The water is clear and 2.2’. The lowest it gets. The stream is still holding at 65 degrees and Red Run is around 61. Nothing was hatching, but a few small browns sipping off the surface. We both figured it was about time we get to say, “Welcome to Antietam” to ourselves. Jerry scored his first. I grabbed my net and he put to my net a heavy mid-teen brown. We thought I had one with the fight, but it was only 12 inches. A few cast later, I got mine. Jerry grabbed his net and I also got a heavy wild brown. It was a great time hanging out together. I still have some September and October dates available. The fishing is great. You don’t want to miss out before ”No fish November” comes. We shut it down for spawning.
